The Wounded Soldier
Can a wounded soldier enter into battle and win victoriously? Everyday we face battles in this land of the living. When we suffer severe wounds how do we deal with the healing process? Do we bandage up and walk back onto the battlefield hoping no one would notice? Have we used pain killers (distractions) to help us through the next battle?
What happens when there is an attack that inflicts pain on the very wound we have hidden under the bandage? The pain intensifies and the wound is probably infected at this point. When we leave the infected wound untreated the infection begins to spread, pain killers no longer work. The infection has you paralyzed with pain, making it impossible to fight against the enemy. You are now infecting the people close to you and others are keeping their distance. How can there be victory for the wounded soldier, when all we see is fatal defeat?
But beloved there is hope in the one who “was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities… by His wounds we are healed”!
Remove the bandage before the Lord. Show Him the ugliness that is causing you so much pain and hindering you from a victorious battle. Stop using distractions that only give temporary relief. Bare it all before your Father. Allow Him the time to completely heal and restore you.
Then stand firm knowing you were made whole and every battle would end victoriously!!
